The basic tone (kitiau-ym):

Description

• at middle level: lower than the high tone, higher than the low tone
• Examples:

  tøsia, phvi, ji, go, sinpu

  thank you, nose/to smell, two, five, daughter-in-law

Kitiau-ym + ar tone sandhi exception

A basic tone syllable doesn't change tone when followed by ar. Here are some examples:

• o'ar
• chiu'ar
• iaxchi'ar
• hvi'ar
• phvi'ar
