Name
- Formerly Siahkhao 🔊 (錫口; from Malysyakkaw), from Ketagalan, meaning "where the river twists".
- In 1920, the area's settlements became Matsuyama Village, named after Matsuyama, Ehime, Japan. It was a part of Shichisei District, Taihoku Prefecture.
- In 1938, merged into Taihoku City. Now called Songshan in Mandarin.
