FireDictionary Process: How to create a new dictionary file for use with FireDictionary. 2010-06-13

  1. get new engbuun.txt
  2. open in MS Excel
  3. select column A
  4. ^H "Find and Replace".
    • Find what: 0
    • Replace with: Q
    • Replace All
  5. inspect column C for stray text. Column C must be blank. (Hint: use ^ down arrow to zip to non-blank cell)
  6. ^A to select all
  7. Data, Sort, Sort by Column A
  8. save as Text (Tab delimited); only active sheet: OK; features: Yes.
  9. close Excel, don't need to save changes.
  10. open file in text editor and replace \t with \n
  11. save file as engbuunQXP.txt
