History

formerly Kvoacinnaa (竿蓁林/菅蓁林)
In 1920, the former town of Akofng-tiaxm (阿公店) was renamed Okayama (岡山) by the ruling Japanese and was made the site of a Japanese airbase.
The town suffered heavy bombardment in World War II.
