Notes

  • Mount Penglai, or Penglai Island is a mystical land found in Chinese mythology. Often said to be the base for the Eight Immortals (patsiefn, 八仙). The legend also passed into Japan (Jidpurn), where it took shape as the legend of Hōrai). Hōrai can be used in Japanese to refer to Taiwan.
