The MTL Toolbox converts between Modern Literal Taiwanese (MLT) and other popular romanization systems, which allows convenient search of multiple dictionaries. It also has features to help learning the MLT writing system, which we also call MTL.
Dictionary search
- Modern Taiwanese-English Dictionary [1] - a search engine for the Hiexntai-buun Dictionary (HTB). It accepts MTL, English and Harnji queries.
- MTL Multisearch [2] - (aka MTL Explainer) input an MTL word to search the HTB Dictionary, Dictionary of Frequently-Used Taiwan Minnan, and link to Maryknoll's Taiwanese-English Dictionary and Tai-Nichi Daijiten. Will also breakdown a word into syllables and a syllable into initial & final parts, describing each.
- Gateway to the Tw-Ch (Taihoa) Dictionary - converts an MTL word to a POJ word, searches the POJ Taibuun/Hoabuun Svoarterng Sutiern, and converts results from POJ to MTL. Also accepts Harnji for Taiwanese and Mandarin as search terms. Big5 encoding.
Text converters
- POJ to MTL Converter - converts POJ sentences (in UTF-8 encoding) to MTL.
- MTL to POJ Converter - converts MTL sentences to POJ in ASCII format.
