Banka
- bangka / bangca means outrigger canoe (Indonesian and Tagalog); this is Taipei's oldest district.
- The current name (Jidguo: 萬華 Banka) was bestowed during Japanese rule. Hence Wanhua in Mandarin.
- In spoken Taiwanese, the name has not changed. There's a film called Monga (film)
