Name
- Svakak'erng (三角湧 literally "triangular surge") kuxmiaa (mxsi Samkiøh'erng).
- The old name refers to the meeting of the Dahan Creek, Sansia River, and "Horizontal River" (橫溪).
- In 1920, the Japanese government designated it an administrative area named Sankyō (三峽; "Three Gorges")
