Taixoaan (Tai+oaan; 大員/大圓; Taiwan)
- Reading of two historical Harnji forms for the name of Taiwan (see wikt).
- Two other historical forms, 臺員/臺圓 (Taioaan), sound like Taixoaan in the northern accent, historically found in Zoanciw, Hokkiexn.
- The modern Harnji for Taioaan is 臺灣 (Taai+oaan). Note: 灣 is almost always oafn (high tone), except here.
- Another old variant is 臺窩灣 (Tai'Qoaan).
