Taigie
Pronunciation
Proper noun
臺灣 (tr., MTL Taioaan, MTLP Taai 🔊+oaan 🔊, POJ Tâi-ôan, s. 台湾)
- Taiwan
Usage notes
- Harnji "灣" (oafn 🔊) is usually read in high tone (#1). The reading of "oaan 🔊" (curving up tone, #5) here is an exception.
- Historical variants 臺員 and 臺圓 (Taai oaan 🔊) are both properly read as "Template:Tts2". However, they may be read as Taixoaan 🔊 in the northern accent, historically found in Zoanciw, Hokkiexn.
