Tailaam used to be called Taiwan-fu (Template:TY; 臺灣府)...it was the capital of the island (Taiwan Prefecture) for 200 years!
Circa 1885, the Qing government designed Template:TY (大墩; Twa-tun, modern-day Taitiofng) as the new capital, but moved temporarily to Taipag
That's when the old Taiwan-fu was renamed to Tailaam and demoted to prefectural seat
