Examples

Using the silent r:

  • a -> ar: pharng (bread)
  • o -> or: hor (tiger)
  • ø -> ør: hør! (good)
  • in -> irn: lirn (you (Second person))

Using the shouting substitutions:

  • i -> ie: chie (mouse)
  • u -> uo: Taiguo (Taiwanese)
  • e -> ea: azea (older sister)
  • ai -> aie -> ae: bexbae (not bad)
  • au -> auo -> ao: zao (to run)

More finals with substitutions:

  • ie: uie, vie, vuie
  • uo: iuo, viuo
  • ea: oea, vea
  • ae: oae, vae, voae
