Pintofng 🔊 (MTLP: Piin+tofng; Harnji: 屏東; lit. screen east/Pingtung)

Some history

  • originally a village of the Taiwanese Plains Aborigines which they called "Akau", meaning "forest"
  • After the expulsion of the Dutch, the village grew into a Chinese market-town called "A-kau" (阿猴; Template:TEk).
