Taioaan Huo
Taioaan-huo (臺灣府 Taiwan Prefecture)
- this prefecture was established by the Qing dynasty government in 1684 to govern the island Taioaan.
- Taiwan-fu was used in English to refer to the prefectural seat, modern-day Tainan
- In the late 19th century, Taiwan gained provincial status (officially "Fujian-Taiwan-Province"), and the seat of the island was moved north, ultimately to Taipei
